"Not quite," Professor Hadley said, shaking her head sadly at the two girls. Quote:

Eh...she'll write home just in case. No need to bother Hadley in her office, though.
....
Fieldtrip?!!! YESSSSSS!
Ellie was uber excited by this. She even sat straighter in her chair. Then Hadley ruined it with 'calculation'.
SIGH.
She'd almost forgot this was Arithmancy. With math. And other uselessness she didn't understand. "Is it your last name alone? Added and simplified and..." arithmancy-ed, "stuff." She'll still try, though. Quote:

Although sometimes that would make for a fairly large number, depending upon the name, so perhaps it is divided by the total letters or something?" The next two though represented their house well, as they gave precisely the correct answer. "Yes. One point to each of you. The family name number is calculated by assigning each letter in the surname with the appropriate number, then adding those numbers together and reducing the sum to a single-digit, unless we get a Master Number, in which case we do not reduce. Can I have some volunteers please?" Professor Hadley asked, looking around the classroom. Ugh. They were all so exhausted. Pity. Text Cut: Prefect Hudson! Quote:

Turning to the set task, Patroclus had a bit of an issue, his family was his role models, his Mother Father and Brother meant everything to him, and he tired everyday to make them proud and aspired to be like them. However for thr point of the lesson he would just place them in the Biological section!
With his lis complete, Patroclus listening to the next section the use of Numbers to figure out a family name number, "Either what Kurumi said, the mixing of the Maiden Name, and family name, or perhaps the first names of everyone in the family!"
'P' seemed to be a common letter in the Hudson household! Someone loved their family. Josephina had the distinct feeling that Prefect Hudson over there had a loving and supportive upbringing. A household that could almost be considered normal, if there was such a thing. ooc: Just so you guys know, you're more than welcome to post Pro/Con lists if you haven't done so already... As well as write on your parchments about the family question, as Nixy! did... That is, if you want the participation credit =)
