Godric stood in the front of the classroom with a rather complicated diagram of a wizard turning into a dog and the words Animagus written in fancy calligraphy. “An animagus,” he said turning his attention to the class. “Is a witch or wizard that freely chooses to turn into the form of an animal.” He flicked his wand to enchant the chalk to write itself as he spoke. “This is, of course, different from werewolves. Animagi can take many forms depending on the wizard. I know, from personal experience, of a wizard who takes the form of a giant squid.”
