“Don’t touch the tray yet,” Kurumi warned her daughter as she took the tray out of the oven and set it on the counter. “It is still very hot.”

Unable to resist the temptation of eating a cookie fresh out of the oven, the little girl reached up, burnt her hand, and immediately burst into tears.

“I warned you,” she said gently picking her daughter up and running cold water over her hand.

“Can’t you just fix it with magic?”

“Magic is something we can do, not who we are. You shouldn’t become dependent on magic. You’ll only limit yourself.”
