“Hey there Granger,” Cormac greeted with a smirk on his face as he flopped himself down on the sofa beside Hermione. “What’s say you and I get to know each other on a first name basis, eh?”

Hermione peeked up momentarily from her book only to attempt to hide her gag reflexes when she saw who it was addressing her. She knew that she should never have asked him to Professor Slughorn’s Christmas party and now she was regretting the decision full heartedly.

“I’m busy,” she said returning her gaze to her book. “Studying.”

“Aw, don’t be like that,” he frowned scooting a bit closer. “Can’t you see that you have turned on a light in my heart?”

Now she really felt like she was going to gag.

“Nox will fix that,” she said bluntly scooting a bit further down the sofa away from him.
