She took the stairs two steps at a time, racing up to her bedroom. Once there she grabbed her black pea-coat off the coat rack in the corner, and shoved her wand and a pair of black dragon hide gloves into her pockets. She stopped briefly by her dresser and picked up a brass ornate photo frame. In it was a photo of her with her parents at the front of their Godric’s Hollow home. It had been taken when she was seven, just a year before Voldemort returned to power. They were happier times, much easier times than now. Andrea and Spencer laughed merrily and kissed their daughter in the photograph, it was a lovely memory, a minute moment in time when all was right in the world, at least it was in her world. Ellouise set the photograph down and left the room, skipping down the stairs to the drawing room. Xavier still wasn’t there, Harry and Ron sat in the corner playing wizard chess, Ron’s complexion was still mildly orange but at least the swelling had gone down, so Ellouise went back down to the kitchen.

“The answer is no Xavier”, Remus was saying, “It’s just too dangerous”. Ellouise approached them slowly, her eyes drifting from one to the other and back again.
“What’s going on?” she asked them. Remus just looked at her, worry etched in his frown lines.
“Elle, you’re not going out today, you need to stay here, you’ve been through so much already. It’s not safe out there.” He said sternly.
“Charlie told him that we’re up to no good “, added Xavier, his voice dripping with anger. Charlie sat not far from where they stood, his hands in his lap and his eyes on Ellouise.
“Who do you think you are?” she asked, turning on Charlie, her eyes flaring. “I don’t want you to get hurt”, he replied without breaking eye contact even though at that point in time Ellouise looked about as friendly as a nesting Peruvian Vipertooth that coincidently hadn’t been fed for months. “Hurt... you think I’m going to get hurt?” she spat as she advanced on him. Everyone in the kitchen had gone silent once more and were starring at them, Molly and Arthur Weasley looked particularly shocked at her outrage.
“I would never let anything or anyone hurt Ellouise”, said Xavier as he walked to her side, Ellouise turned to look at him, it was the first time she had heard him call her by anything other than Ellie.
“Oh sure, you’re just going along with this because you want her away from me. Face it Xavier, you know she’ll never be interested in you, you’re like a brother to her and that’s all you’ll ever be. You’re just jealous because last night I got closer to her than you ever have!” yelled Charlie as he stood up to meet Xavier on the other side of the kitchen table. The room was tense now, even Remus was taken-aback slightly, unsure of what was about to happen. Ellouise looked at Charlie, even she was having difficulty making sense of what he had said. Jealous? Why would Xavier be jealous? He didn’t like her in that way?... did he? Ellouise’s heart skipped a beat, her mind was racing so fast she had hardly taken a second to breathe. She turned slowly to look at Xavier, was Charlie telling the truth? Did he have feelings for her? Xavier stood there his eyes transfixed on Charlie’s, the corners of his lips turned down and the fire in his eyes burned out, he looked...defeated.
“I don’t want to take Ellie away from anything... I know what it’s like to lose a parent, I can’t even imagine what it feels like to lose both at the same time. It’s been a month now, the Order’s not doing anything about it. I was merely suggesting we should get out a bit more so she’s not cooped up in here doing nothing!” he said more strongly now.
