Chapter Nineteen – A Daydream Nightmare

As she headed out of the Charms room for lunch, it was obvious that there was lots of love in the air. She tore a sideways glance at a blushing and clumsy Anton, as Hermione walked by, a hair flick that was in no way coincidence. Bella on the other hand, bubbly, energetic and confident, was chatting away aimlessly to a slightly awkward Ron, whose cheeks now matched his hair.
On her way to the Great Hall, she noticed her oldest sister, Melanie, sitting extremely close to Fred - or was it George? - discussing something in the Daily Prophet. Tilting her head sideways, she quickly read the headline as she wandered past.

"Mass Azkaban Breakout"

A gasp escaped Indie's lips, her face turning white as her books hit the floor almost as quick as her jaw. Everything around her was blurred, except for the moving picture of waves crashing upon a huge, sea fortress. Beside it, a prison picture of a crazed woman with wild hair and eyes, screaming, showing her disgusting, yellow teeth.
Then, Hogsmeade station was suddenly in front of her, quite empty. She had left her wand behind - quite stupid having it in your back pocket really - and had gone back to get it. By the time she'd gotten to the right compartment, most of the students had left, and she found herself rushing from the train to the platform to get a carriage with at least somebody. Tripping on an untied lace on her sneaker, she was slowed even more.
A low, spine-chilling laugh caught the wind as it pushed Indie's hair off her face, allowing her to see the black cloak and wild curls heading swiftly toward her. As cold, pale hands enclosed on her shoulders, she felt a blood curling scream leave her lips, nothing she'd ever thought she could utter.
“Quiet, you stupid girl!” rasped a female voice that matched the laughter, as the hood fell away. Staring into manic, black eyes Indie kicked and fought, her wand that she’d rescued now out of her grasp. The wand of her attacker however, was aimed perfectly at her chest, as she now found herself laying panting on the cold stone of the platform.

“CRUCIO!”

Another scream, though not as loud as the first, escaped Indie. Over and over, she felt the sting of dark magic, the things around her becoming more and more faint.

“INDIE!”

The pain stopped. Just disappeared, along with its inflictor, as the crazed woman disappeared down the platform, followed by Bella. Melanie now sat beside Indie, who had nothing but Bella on her mind. She wasn’t sure why, or how, but somehow, Melanie ran after Bella, followed by George, and Harry was by her side.
Memories came flooding back. She remembered Harry’s panic, Bella’s fury and Melanie’s fear. She remembered the cold of that unknown woman, and the goosebumps left on her skin. But the thing that now clung to her, was the familiarity of the second cloaked figure. She knew him, somehow…
But, it was the hair, the eyes, the icy touch…they were the things that stuck with her from that night, as she felt herself slipping away from worried calls and crying sisters……….

“Indie!”

Harry’s slightly calmer voice snapped her out of her daydream, that seemed more like a nightmare as she remembered more of it. She felt how cold her cheeks were, how wide her eyes had gotten and that she was showing everyone her tonsils.
Grabbing the paper from Melanie’s hands, she stared at the screaming face on the right of the front page.

“I need to see Dumbledore,” she said to Harry, “I know who attacked me last night.”

As she began to walk out of the Great Hall, Harry spoke up, as he followed.

“Wait, you mean you remember?” he asked, stopping her in her tracks, as she turned to face him.

“Yes, Harry…” she began, holding up the paper so he could see too.

“And it’s NOT good!”
