“Dumbledore has decided, so as to include everybody, that this year there is going to be an international quidditch team and he has appointed me captain.” Clarisa said, grinning with excitement. She hadn’t even been captain at her school back home.
“Oh really?” James smiled. “Then, I wish you good luck.” He said, extending a hand. “I’m sure you’ll make an excellent captain, and I look forward to playing with you.” James said, sincerely.
Clarisa and James began to talk animatedly about quidditch, I was kind of listening, but my attention was fading.
“Sirius Black. I would almost think that you were avoiding me, if I didn’t know how much you loved me.” A grin spread across her face, Andromeda walked up behind me.
“Dro!” I jumped up and pulled her into a hug. “How could I ever want to avoid you?” I smirked. “You’ve probably just been too distracted with your boyfriend.” I teased.
“Yeah.” She sighed. “I don’t know about that anymore.” She said. Her eyes flickered over to Narcissa and Bellatrix.
“You wouldn’t let our lovely family stop you from going to the ball with who you want, would you?” I asked.
“No, of course not.” She said, looking back at me.
“Then what’s the problem?” I asked. “I mean, Ted has asked you, hasn’t he?”
Andromeda shook her head. “No. He hasn’t, and I don’t know why. I didn’t do anything wrong. Do you think he’s going with somebody else? I mean, we’re not dating yet. But I thought he was going to ask me, and I’m not going with anyone.”
She was like my sister, and she told me everything. I knew that she wasn’t usually like this with guys, but Ted was different. I also knew that this seemed like strange behavior for him. “Strange. I’ll talk to him, if you like. And if it all turns out badly, any other guy would go with you in a second.”
Andromeda laughed. “Thanks Sirius. What would I do without you?”
“Your life would be rather miserable.” I said.
“You’re not very modest, are you?”
I was walking around outside, as it started to rain lightly. Everyone else seemed to be doing something, but James would be finishing his quidditch practice soon.
With my head down, I ran for cover from the rain in the entrance hall and hit into another figure. I looked up, about to apologize when I saw who was standing there. “Oh, it’s you.” I said, flicking my tousled damp hair out of my grey eyes.
“Well that’s just ruined my day.” Kyla said coldly.
“Aw, how come? You mean it doesn’t just brighten your day to see me, Kylie?” I smirked.
“No, not really. Because on the contrary to what your egotistical head thinks, not every single girl is obsessed with you.”
“Maybe not. But most of them are, including you.”
“I could be doing so many more important things, than wasting my time talking to you, so I hope I don’t see you around, Black.” Kyla said, walking away without looking back.
Now I needed to find Ted so that I could talk to him, and then find James and get ready.
