Chapter Fourteen

“ I've bloody had it! She's been ignoring us and crying herself to sleep every night, she screams in her sleep and she won't eat! She claims she's a danger to us and that is why she's been distancing herself from us. She won't talk to bloody anybody! Not even pretty boy Aaron Thayne!” Zoe groaned in the midst of History of Magic, Simon jumped when she began to shriek in a low tone, so no one else could hear her.” I'm talking to Michael about this, whether she likes it or not. Besides for her own good, we are nearing Christmas break and no one has done anything.”


“ Zoe.” Simon started, but stopped, realizing that his blonde, half American friend for once, had a point.” I'm having nothing to do with this, I don't need to give Calypso anymore reason to hate me.” He sighed in a resigned sort of way as he leaned back in his chair.” When do you plan on telling her? I need to know when to prepare for a shrieking, furious, Calypso who's ready to kill me cause she'll automatically think I set it all up.” Simon asked as they were preparing to leave class and head to dinner.


“ I'm telling him right now, Michael needs to know as soon as possible.” Zoe announced and flounced off towards the dark skinned man arguing with J.C about something. When she got there she waited impatiently, not wanting to interrupt their conversation, right when she was about to cut in, since she'd always had had a low patience meter, Michael turned to face her.” Hey Michael, Jasmine, I mean that J.C person. Anyway, dude, I know you aren't on the best terms with Calypso right now but-”


“ If you know he's not then why bother Zelda?” J.C spat, interrupting Zoe, much to the blondes irritation, especially because J.C didn't even get her name right. Michael quickly silence J.C with a glare and turned to face Zoe, waiting for her to continue, looking somewhat curious, but not as much as he would have been a month or so ago. J.C glowered at Zoe and stormed off, but stayed close enough to hear what Zoe had to say, it sounded like Calypso was planning on a way to get Michael back with out making it look like her fault.


“ Anyway, Calypso is gonna murder me for telling you this, but you know what happened in the end of October, when Calypso was in the medical wing.” Michael nodded slowly as Zoe paused.” She told me what happened, reluctantly, and she was bitten by a werewolf, ever since then, she's been distancing herself from us and has been screaming in her sleep. We need you to do something! I know deep down she d-didn't break off her friendship with you for no reason, she will listen to you! I know she will!”


Shock filtered on to Michael's features, along with worry.” Where is Calypso?” Michael asked instantly and a small smile filled with hope appeared on Zoe's face. She led him to a dark, unused classroom, where Calypso sat on the teacher's desk, sobbing to hard not to notice anyone at the door.” Thanks.” Michael muttered the entered, quietly making his way over to Calypso, not wanting to scare her away. Gently he placed his hands on her shoulders and felt her jump a little, but not move anymore then that.


“ Callie, I need you to talk to me, to tell me what's going on.” He whispered softly, as he pulled her to a tight hug knowing she needed it, and somehow, he did as well. Calypso just sobbed harder, not wanting any of this to have happened. Jasmine, the werewolf, Michael, any of them. It all seemed to much for her, a fourteen year old, to deal with, and she wanted to quit.


“ You don't want to be near me, I'm a stupid, stupid, stupid person, putting me and everyone I know in danger. You need to stay away from me, it's bad for you, your going to die. She's going to kill you!” Calypso choked out through her tears, which had started to come faster now.” Jasmine said she'd kill you if I didn't stay away, your putting yourself in more danger, just leave Michael.. Don't make this any harder for me then it needs to be.” The arms around her merely tightened, and Calypso had no idea if it was from anger, or something else.


“ Please Michael, you don't want anything to do with a mudblood like me, I shouldn't even be here at Hogwarts, I should quite, and go home, I should go to an orphanage were I belong.” She continued on her rambling, fresh sobs racking her body. Michael didn't move, he seemed to have stiffened, his grip on Calypso was quite a bit stronger then she was, and she couldn't move.


“ Don't. Ever. Call. Yourself. That. Again.” Michael spat through gritted teeth, he had no idea how in the world he had been so oblivious to how Jasmine had treated his Calypso.” You need to calm down, your over reacting. You do belong here at Hogwarts, why in the world do you think McGonagall sent you the letter? She's not an evil person wanting to make mockery out of you. Besides, your mum went to Hogwarts, and she was just like you, muggle parents.” Calypso's breathing had slowed down considerably, but she was still crying and sniffling quite a bit.


“ Plus I can take care of myself, don't worry about Jasmine.” With out a warning, Michael lowered his lips on to Calypso's, shocking her completely. She quickly pulled away, feeling totally confused. Nothing made sense anymore, her head was spinning like a carousel put on lightning speed.


“ What about Jasmine? You and her are dating and you just.. What in Merlin's saggiest is going on here?” Calypso muttered, dropping her head in to her hands, she couldn't even think straight now.


“ Jasmine and I broke up last week Callie. And that was payback for the train ride.” Calypso blushed crimson, remembering exactly what he was talking about.” Look, I can handle Jasmine, you don't need to worry about her. Now, let's go get you something to eat.” Calypso nodded standing up, the two then made their way back to the great hall..
